Buy An Air Mattress or the Couch?
I just realized there are four mattresses in my house. Not that most people think about that on a daily basis but it just hit me when I thought about buying an air mattress for an out of town guest. We were planning on hosting a group of relatives at our house not that long ago but there weren’t enough beds. In the end they wound up sleeping on the couches when we ran out of bed space.
I’d seen the air mattresses for sale at CVS and Walgreens but I didn’t think I wanted to spend the money on a maybe one time use item. I just learned that at least the same number of people will be here again before the end of the year so it doesn’t look like that would have been a one time use item after all.
Boy, I thought there was plenty of selection with mattresses in general but wait until you get a load of some of these air mattresses. The bells and whistles almost want to make me throw my current mattress in the trash. Of course, I wouldn’t. That’s not eco-friendly.
So, anyway, I’m finding that they come in more than just a standard size. Yeah, you’d think that they’d of course come in your King and Queen size, but I could not hold back an “aaahhhh” when I saw this air mattress for kids. That was wild. Kid’s air mattresses - I just assumed they’d share a bed with someone else.
All in all I think buying an air mattress with a built in air pump is the way to go. Yes, some air mattresses come without built in air pumps. Can you imagine having to blow that thing up? Hee. Hee. Of course you don’t. These have an external pump or hand pump to blow it up for you.
If you have an old mattress you are willing to put your guest on just be sure to be nice and get the best mattress pad so they can have a comfortable sleep.
If you however are ready to purchase a new mattress for yourself or your guest bedroom be sure to look into the visco elastic foam mattress.
